Civic Voice is the national charity for the civic movement in England. Civic Voice promotes civic pride and making places more attractive, enjoyable and distinctive. They speak up for civic societies and local communities, and provide resources to strengthen the civic movement.
The first civic society was set up in the 1840s. Since then the civic movement has grown into a network of hundreds of local voluntary civic and amenity societies that champion the importance of local places to decision-makers and opinion-formers in business, politics, government, the media, the voluntary sector and elsewhere.
We partner with Civic Voice to promote the voluntary and community action of some of these groups and individuals, who strive to protect and improve local places of social and historical value.
