40th Anniversary of the MCT

14 May, 2021

This week, we were delighted to mark the 40th Anniversary of the foundation of the Marsh Christian Trust.

Over the past 4 decades, the Trust has grown substantially, and we have been able to work with some fantastic partner organisations from across the charity sector. We have continued the work that our founder and Chairman Brian Marsh began back in 1981, namely to create a sustainable way to give something back to society, by supporting the organisations and people who are making a difference, as best he could.

Through our grants programme, which provides unrestricted funding towards the running costs of an organisation, we have helped hundreds of charities across the last 40 years. We are proud to have been able to support some of these organisations over the course of a number of years with reliable, long-term funding which has fostered some great relationships.

The Marsh Awards programme, which began in 1987, has gone from strength to strength, recognising those who contribute their time and skills to causes that they believe in. We are proud to work with leading partners in the third sector to celebrate those who help further their work in six key areas: lifetime achievements, local volunteering, professional contributions, international work, peer support and youth volunteering and early careers.

To mark this important milestone for the Marsh Christian Trust, we are running a Twitter Takeover over on our social media where we are inviting past Award winners to share more about the work that saw them win their Award and what they have been up to in the years since. We would love people to get engaged with the stories from our winners and you can follow along with our celebrations on our Twitter page here.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Trustees, Ambassadors, Award Partners and everyone who has been involved in supporting the Marsh Christian Trust over the last 40 years.

We are looking forward to continuing our work in both our Awards and Grants programmes for many years to come.
