2010 - Rutambhara Joshi - National Winner

The work of Rutambhara Joshi at Thinktank Planetarium in Birmingham has enabled Thinktank to triple the number of presenter-led shows the Planetarium is able to offer.

Asides from ensuring more weekend visitors than ever before can enjoy a presenter-led show about the night sky, she has also introduced a unique personal dimension to her shows.

Her enthusiasm and hard work in the planetarium have been noticed by staff and visitors alike.

South East - Museum of History Science, Oxford:-
Tony Gillman, Ellie Pullan, Carlos Ruiz, Marie Ruiz, Ken Taylor, Ufuk Yilmaz and John Ward have helped to deliver excellence by providing free guided tours of the Museum

South West – Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life
The Education team - Helen Booth, Lilo Bush, Amyas Crump, Anne Davies, Christine Ghail, Doreen Gidney, Anne Hotchkiss, Sandy Haughton, Joan Kelly and Phil Sealy have developed very hands on activities to complement and enhance the work in education at the museum.

London – Tate
Mary Maidment has been illuminating Tate’s Collection for visitors, as a Volunteer Tour Guide for Tate Britain and Tate Modern since 1976.

East of England - Ancient House Museum in Thetford
Margaret Barclay, Luke Etheridge, Jade Flint, Chanel Kirwan, Kessie Rich, Alexander Scerri and Ross Wilson support the museum by conducting research, preparing resources for craft activities and maintaining the handling collections.

Wales – Sir Henry Jones museum
John Hughes has been involved voluntarily in the running and upkeep of the Sir Henry Jones museum since the 1970s.

Yorkshire - Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery
Elizabeth Stainforth - works with the Gallery Team to design and deliver Family Fun activities relating to the temporary exhibitions programmes.

North West - Harris Museum and Art Gallery
Lawrence Turner has been involved in a broad range of activities and events ranging from running workshops right through to back office support.

North East - Beamish Museum
Pat Wright and Ron Blackburn have made a real difference by helping make collections accessible to young people and encouraging creativity by their unfailing support of a Young Persons Art Club.
