Mary has been with Rethink since 1992 and in that time, she and her team have dealt with approximately 150,000 cases, many of which have resulted in major changes in practice and/or the law.

Mary has authored dozens of pamphlets amd books, including Rethink's three most popular publications. She has also been a member of numerous government advisory boards, including those of patient safety, reforming the mental health act and the introduction of the national service framework for Mental Health which set out the governement's major reform of mental health services in 1998.
